Leeds United Supporters Club Malta's trip to Leeds
Leeds United Supporters Club (Malta) organised the trip of a lifetime for all its fellow members between Friday 24th February 2023 and Wednesday 1st March. The trip started with a tour around the city of Leeds including visits to the Corn Exchange, Leeds Market, the Royal Armories Museums and Shopping Complexes such as Trinity and the Central Arcade. The highlight of the trip was however on the 25th of February when the attendees met with some Leeds United players and walked the famous path towards Elland Road for the match Leeds United vs Southampton. This trip also incorporated a tour of the Elland Road Ground and a visit to York. Furthermore, attendees were challenged with preparing a Maltese local dish to follow supporters of Leeds United. A secondary match to which Leeds United played away was watched from the well-renowned Holbeck Workmen's Club.

Leeds United legend Paul Reaney visits Malta
Leeds United Supporters Club (Malta) welcomed club legend Paul Reaney. Reaney declared open an exhibition which featured memorabilia of this famous club from West Yorkshire together with the England Football National Team with various souvenirs. This exhibition was held in one of the main landmarks in our Capital City – Palazzo Ferreria and was open from Sunday 30th October 2022 till Friday, 4th November 2022 between 9.00 am & 5.00 pm. Paul played with Leeds United between 1962 and 1978 and also represented England gaining three caps, one of them being the Malta – England match played at the Old Empire Stadium in Gzira in 1971, which incidentally was his last appearance for this country. The LUSC (Malta) has also invited the Maltese players who played against England in that famous match to meet Reaney. During his stay in Malta Reaney on Sunday was the guest of honour during an event for all members of the Leeds United Supporters Club and also visited the island of Gozo.

Surprise Visit from Big Dom
During the Annual General Meeting on the 24th of July, the members
had a very pleasant and great surprise. In the middle of the meeting, Dominic Matteo walked in
and sat among the members! Dominic happened to be on holiday in Malta with his family when
it came to his attention through social media that the annual general meeting was taking place so
he hopped into a taxi and came to meet members of the club. As our Tonio Galea
shared with the Leeds United Supporters Club Newsletter "As soon as we realised who was among us,
the meeting was stopped, and everyone welcomed him with open arms.“ Dominic Matteo
offered to have a question-and-answer session with the members. LUSC Malta has now appointed
Matteo as their first honourable member. Thank you, Dom Matteo from all the
Maltese supporters!

Blood Donation
On the 16th of October, the Leeds United Supporter's Club organised a blood donation event that was also open to the general public. In fact, Leeds United Supporters along with a Liverpool Supporter as well as a Manchester United Supporter came together for this grand gesture. Although from rival football clubs, these supporters came together for the greater good. Kudos to all the participants.
Meet Up
On the 20th of October, the Leeds United Supporter's Club meet for some beers and discussions over the club. Opinions were different but the love for the club will always be the same!

Johnny Walker Mentoring Session
On the 9th of September at 'Il-Fanal Sports Bar & Restaurant', a Johnny Walker Mentoring Session was organized by the LUMSC. This session consisted of a short video on whisky and the history of Johnny Walker, tasting techniques as well as a blind tasting of Johnny Walker Whiskies. This event was sponsored by M Demajo Wines and Spirits.

Eucharist's Birthday Celebration
The Leeds United Supporter's Club would like to wish Eucharist better known as Karistu, our vice-president and Gozitian representative a happy birthday. We wish you nothing but happiness, prosperity and a splendid year ahead. The club joined Karistu in his birthday celebrations with a visit to Gozo and some cake.
